Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat

Retreat

The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat sits in a 22.7-acre valley in Ipoh, Perak, framed by 260-million-year-old Paleozoic limestone hills, rainforest, natural caves and cascading waterfalls, with geothermal hot springs running through the property as both a scenic feature and a therapeutic one. As Malaysia's first luxury natural hot springs wellness retreat, its 44 Royal, Grand Garden, Garden, Water and Lake villas are built to feel immersed in that landscape rather than separate from it, and the resort's wellness identity leans heavily on the natural geothermal setting itself — geothermal hot springs dipping pools, a thermal steam cave, a meditation cave, a crystal cave, a Garra Rufa doctor fish pool, and a naturally heated geothermal swimming pool.

At the center of the treatment offering is the Spa & Wellness Centre, which draws on Asian wellness philosophy and Malay Ramuan traditions alongside Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic therapies, blending ancient Malay, Chinese and Indian healing practices with more contemporary spa treatments using ESPA and Margy's Monte Carlo formulations. Guests can choose from three different practitioner-led consultations before selecting treatments, and the spa also offers a fish foot spa alongside its more conventional massage, facial and body treatment menu — giving the offering a distinctly regional character rather than a generic international spa menu.

Beyond individual treatments, The Banjaran packages its wellness offering into structured multi-day programs. A six-day, five-night Fitness Programme combines group and one-on-one fitness sessions, rainforest trail walks and targeted spa therapies with tailored spa cuisine, including antioxidant restoration therapy, intense muscle release, personal training and private yoga sessions, while the Rejuvenation Programme centers more purely on spa and wellness therapies paired with nourishing, specially designed detox-menu cuisine.
