Early Autumn Journey of Awakening: Hotel Uketamo in Taipei Invites You To An Ayurvedic Retreat

Uketamo's vision is to help every traveller unwind from the tension of city life, finding balance of body and mind through nature, dining and healing rituals.

This autumn, Uketamo, a wellness-focused hotel in Taipei, invites guests to slow down with a two-day, one-night Ayurvedic retreat, bookable online until 30 November 2026. Packages start from NT$7,472 per room for two.

As the city cools and the light softens, the season brings a natural cue to turn inward. Early Autumn Journey of Awakening weaves together ancient life philosophy, self-analysis, meditation, autumn yoga, a plant-based breakfast and a hands-on herbal oil workshop. The goal is simple: understand your own constitution, and leave with the tools to find your balance again.

About Uketamo: air and water as healing

Uketamo's vision is to help every traveller unwind from the tension of city life, finding balance of body and mind through nature, dining and healing rituals. Alongside the philosophy behind its name, the hotel treats air and water as its most vital elements.

The entire hotel uses RIA's world-class healthy building solutions:

Purified central air: ifD electronic dust collection and BPI bipolar ion systems filter out particulate matter and bacteria.

In-room air purification: top-of-the-line systems in every guest room inhibit up to 99.92% of viruses.

Mineral-rich drinking water: a G+ nano-filtration membrane system purifies water while retaining eight essential minerals.

This focus makes Uketamo a rare find in the city. Here, every breath and every sip becomes part of the healing journey.

Why Ayurveda, and why autumn

Ayurveda, India's traditional system of wellbeing, holds that each person has a unique constitution. Your balance of qualities shapes how you sleep, digest, think and respond to stress.

Autumn is often described in Ayurveda as a dry, windy, changeable season. It can leave body and mind feeling scattered or unsettled. Grounding routines, warm nourishment and oil-based self-care are traditionally used to restore steadiness. This retreat is built around that idea: first understand yourself, then care for yourself accordingly.

The journey: three rituals over two days

Blend your own Ayurvedic oil. The heart of the stay is a 70-minute Ayurvedic Oil Blending Experience, held daily from 15:10 to 16:20. It begins with a body composition analysis to identify your constitution. You then create a personalised herbal oil blend to soothe body and mind, and take it home to continue the ritual.

Move with the season. Each stay includes one AVATA Wellness yoga class, valued at NT$2,000. Choose the morning session, Healing Moments, to greet the day gently. Or pick the evening session, Finding Balance, to unwind before rest.

Begin the day plant-based. Mornings start with the Bliss & Bone Plant-Based Breakfast for each guest, valued at NT$1,360 for two. It is a light, nourishing vegetarian meal in keeping with the retreat's spirit of balance.

Go deeper: Ayurvedic Body Oil Therapy

Guests who want a fuller experience can add a 60-minute Ayurvedic Body Oil Therapy session for NT$1,200, down from the list price of NT$2,500. Additional sessions cost NT$1,500 per person.

Each session opens with a 10-minute body assessment, followed by 50 minutes of oil therapy. It closes with a cup of Ayurvedic herbal tea. Slots are limited and subject to availability, so booking early is recommended.

A room designed for rest

The retreat continues long after the workshops end. Guests stay in a Standard Room at Shimadake, prepared with small comforts that invite stillness.

Japanese-crafted touches: two yukatas and a mini singing bowl, designed specially for the stay.

Local care: Chazitang toiletries and complimentary sparkling tea.

Yoga on your own time: an in-room AVATA Wellness yoga channel and an Agoy eco-friendly mat, for stretching whenever you like.

Clean air and water: purified air throughout the hotel and in your room, plus filtered, mineral-rich drinking water.

Balanced dining: 10% off meals at the hotel's restaurants throughout your stay.

Easier travel: discounted High-Speed Rail fares when added to your room booking.
